POLAR BEAR DAY! I thought it would never come. Everybody loves polar bears. These beautiful bears were our co-stars in a show done at Pt. Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, WA. How do you celebrate Polar Bear Day – and keep your clothes on?
Holiday Insights offers these thoughts:
Need some ideas on how to celebrate today? Tops on my list is visiting the local zoo to see live polar bears. Teachers like to use this day to teach about polar bears and other bears, as kids are fascinated with all kinds of bears. Also, check the nature channels on cable Tv. The networks often pick up on holidays like today, and run documentaries.
Did you Know? It is believed that all polar bears are left handed. So we can celebrate them again on Left Handers Day which comes in August.
Today is also National Chili Day. I’ve got to say this is an odd combination. I also have to say that hardly anybody really knows how to make really good chili. But I went to Betty Crocker and
here’s a recipe that’s not bad. Now, my secret ingredient for great chili is to add about a cup of strong coffee. Works, believe me.
