Here’s a day to get excited about. Today, Monday June 23, 2014 is officially the day to Keep Calm.
Today is Let It Go Day.
If you’ve been worrying, fretting, or regretting, this is the day to let it go and move on.
Are you a person who says “Oh, I try but I just can’t let go.” Try these ideas:
1) Write your worries or regrets all down, preferably on very thin paper, like oh-say- toilet paper. Call your friends and associates together, and have a ceremonial flushing. Once they’re gone, they’re out of your life altogether and you won’t think of them again.
2) Make a Worry Box. Find a small box. Remember worries will expand to fill the space available so it shouldn’t be too big. The boxes hamburgers come in are ideal, because they make a good cracking noise if you stamp on them. Write your worries down and put them in a worry box like the one shown here. Set a time of day when you can address the worries and don’t let them creep out at any other time. One woman we know sets aside the time from 6:00 to 6:15 every day to worry. If she misses it, too bad. That’s it til tomorrow at 6:00. So now, throw that box of worries in a corner and ignore it. If you feel those worries trying to creep out, stomp on the box. That will feel wonderful. and finally, when the time is right, flush them or burn them. Put all those worries out of your life and just Let It Go!
